TV's Update - Thursday 5th July 2012

This week – Tuesday 3rd July


With the weather threatening, & so many of you still away during the Uni break, I really expected a small turnout on Tuesday evening – but again I was wrong – 39 of us were in action –and the night actually was great for running ! But then – in my opinion every night is great for running – regardless of the weather.

An across campus ban on running/training of any of the ovals, due to their condition, didn’t affect us in the slightest as we did our popular hill session around the lake – 15 min of hill efforts with 15 min warm up/warm down.

Sadly Tuesday was the last night for one of our most popular regulars – Sarah Lloyd. Sarah is finally off to work – after a stint in a hospital in Tanzania. But she has promised to visit us whenever an opportunity arises.

Many of you will remember Leanne Dyksterhuis – who was with our squad for ages – and set up our website. Leanne is very slowly recovering from health issues that have plagued her since the birth of daughter Elke 12 months ago. She sends her best wishes to all her friends in our great squad.

·        Still lots of apologies – again 30+ - due to the Uni break.

·        Thanks to all of you who took the small trouble to let me know of your movements.

Don’t hesitate to ask me if you would like any help at all with a regular training program and/or ideas on opportunities to get into a few races to test your progress.


Of course will be in action on Tuesday next 10th  July 2012 –in hopefully better weather


In 2012, as usual, we’re located at the Baseball field, & using the pavilion over there. Access by car is quite good & parking is very handy - enter from Ring Road East & go around to the Baseball field along the road around the back (Wellington Rd end) of Oval 1. You can park at the rear of the pavilion if space – or on the dirt road above if you like.


A Reminder

Please keep off the main (fenced) oval when warming up /warming down – we don’t want to get on the wrong side of the friendly groundsman.


Saturday Morning Hill Session at Jells Park


Our  Hill session WILL go ahead again next Saturday morning (7th July) - at Jells Park. I can’t be there as I’m involved in a relay race at Bendigo all day, however Chris Allan will be there to coordinate the session . Meet Chris at the usual  spot, ready to run, at 8.30am SHARP (please try to be on time) -  out the front of the cafe – ‘Madeline’s’. Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension – opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.
