News

·        Our Running Squad 2011 Christmas celebration will be held after training (7pm) at the Clayton Campus on Tuesday 13th December.

Venue will be the outside BBQ area at the back of the Sports building – overlooking the sports fields. There will be a small charge to cover the catering –$5 head - see Chris to pay or with any queries . Quite a few of you have indicated you’re attending – but there are still a great many of you we haven’t heard from.

We are looking at possibly conducting some sort of fun race – a relay maybe – at training that night, before the celebration BBQ.

We really hope for a huge attendance at this get together, which is always an enjoyable event. If any of you would like to help Chris & Daniel on the night with preparations I’m sure any offers would be most gratefully accepted

This week

On a great evening we had a big turn out again – 47 – up a little on last week

No new squad members – but a few returned after longish absences – Georgina, Laurence, Mot, & Louis. Len was back again so I threw him the whistle for the session – 4 x 60sec & 8 x 30sec efforts. All went very well – great work. We were most impressed I must say with the new running spikes flaunted by Simon & Shaun.

At least a dozen of you that I know of tackled last Sunday’s City to Sea run – 14k – with excellent results. Additionally Carlo did the 10k ‘Run for Ronald’ in Qld last Sunday & Ly participated in the Relay for Life on the CFA team – covering 28k.

In the next day or so I’ll try to get all known results onto our website – so have a look.

I still have a limited supply of running diaries for any of you who might like to keep tabs on your training/progress. Just send me a note if you’d like one. And I am happy to chat about training programs as well as review diary entries.

We’ll be in action again as usual next Tuesday evening 22nd November  2011

We’re located at the Baseball field, & using the pavilion over there. Access by car is quite good & parking is very handy - enter from Ring Road East & go around to the Baseball field along the road  around the back (Wellington Rd end) of Oval 1.

And we are in action every Tuesday evening without fail throughout 2011- with our last session on Tuesday 20th December (but no session on Tuesday 27th).

Hill Session at Jells Park - Saturday Mornings

·        I’ve decided to have a break from the Saturday morning hill session at Jells Park for a few weeks. With Saturday afternoon competition ongoing at this time our numbers will be very small – there were just 3 of us last Saturday.

So our next organised session will be on Saturday morning 10th December  - and I’ll send a reminder note prior to that date.

Of course if any of you are free on a Saturday morning over the  next few weeks by all means go to Jells park and do the session.

And if any of you do find an opportunity to do this - please let me know as I’ll try to join you
