TV's Update - – Tuesday 17th July 2012

This week  

What a change this week – more daylight –  a nice clear day was certainly a big help. The days are lengthening out now so all the more reason for those few who hibernate in Winter to reappear.

We had a big turnout on Tuesday evening – 50+ this week – and this will build dramatically as lots return from the Uni break. And we again had more than 30 (much appreciated thanks)  apologies.

Again we did our session on the grass & while the surface was still quite soft and the grass a little long, it turned out to be a fun (but hard) session.

This week we did an old favourite – 8 x 60 sec efforts (60s recovery) - and added a couple of 30 sec efforts at the end – and you all survived – very well done !

We welcomed quite a few new members to our great squad this week – Melodie McGeoch, Ian Henderson, Caroline Paeffgen, Jeremy Chin, Jessica Virgona, Rachel Yeo. We trust you will all greatly enjoy & benefit from your involvement with our great squad.

·        Again – thanks to those of you thoughtful enough to send apologies if for any reason you couldn’t make it this week.

I expect a pretty dramatic increase in numbers around the end of July as Uni recommences – in the meantime – make the best of the break.

Don’t hesitate to ask me if you would like any help at all with a regular training program and/or ideas on opportunities to get into a few races to test your progress.


Of course will be in action on Tuesday next 24th  July 2012


In 2012, as usual, we’re located at the Baseball field, & using the pavilion over there. Access by car is quite good & parking is very handy - enter from Ring Road East & go around to the Baseball field along the road around the back (Wellington Rd end) of Oval 1. You can park at the rear of the pavilion if space – or on the dirt road above if you like.

Please keep off the main (fenced) oval when warming up /warming down


Saturday Morning Hill Session at Jells Park


Sorry, but the  Saturday morning Hill session WILL NOT go ahead next Saturday morning (21st July) as many of us are involved in Cross Country events at Bundoora Park, that day.

But we’ll definitely be back in action on Saturday week – 28th July.

On the 28th well meet at the usual spot, ready to run, at 8.30am SHARP -  out the front of the cafe at Jells Park – ‘Madelines. Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.

We had a huge turn out last Saturday in what threatened to be very ordinary weather but the day turned out perfect even if the hill was a little muddy in a couple of places. It was great to welcome Michael, Jack, & Roy on their first appearance with our great squad.
