Tuesday June 28

posted 30 Jun 2011, 23:13 by Leanne Dyksterhuis
What a nice evening it was for running on Tuesday this week ! And despite the  Uni break we managed to get 36 of you out – well done.

Fortunately the track was just a little firmer than last week – although certainly not perfect   - and we managed a great session of 2 x 60sec / 4 x 30sec with 90 sec rest then repeated. Of course we did the usual 15 min warm up & warm down followed by a few ‘run throughs’ for some to top off the session.

We welcomed 2 more new members on Tuesday evening – Flavier Le Mouroux, from France & Saki Kokawa, from Japan – adding even more variety to our already international squad.  An off day for Radha this week – no new recruits !

I notice that a number of you who have joined us for the first time in recent weeks have not returned since – and have sent no advice of your intentions. I’d appreciate an early note from those of you in this category please.

I know that there will be lots of absentees over the next few weeks – but despite this we will still have a big squad each week so please do your best to attend.

I still have a small supply of running diaries – let me know if you’d like one. And I’m keen to review your progress by checking the diary for you every so often.

Saturday Morning 2 July -  Hill Session at Jells Park
Our  Hill session WILL of course go ahead again next Saturday morning (2 July) - at Jells Park.
We’ll meet at the usual  spot at 8.30am SHARP, out the front of the cafe – ‘Madeline’s’. Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension – opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.
We welcomed Daniel & Darren to our group last Saturday – and they seemed to really enjoy the experience, even the sloshing through a little mud at times. And the attendance numbers were very good. As it doubled as stage 1 of Julian’s ‘bucks turn’ we enjoyed morning tea at Madeline’s before the hard core headed off to the footy for stage 2.

News
David D is off to Lebanon & Spain for a few weeks.
Peter B – to Korea & Indonesia
Susie W – to Italy
Shaun L is in the Philippines, Mikhail B in Dubai, & I think Katja H is in Germany.
Lots of others are all around Australia & the world – but not sure who else & where.

Best wishes to Josh P & Justin B who are both running 10k on the Gold Coast this coming Saturday. If any others of you are running on the Gold Coast in any event please let me know results.

Cheers
