Hi All

What a fabulous evening for running – if you weren’t there you missed a great night ! Our attendance was 59 – a big improvement on Cup Day 2012 – when we were 34 in number !

My original plan for last night was to go to our popular Hill Circuit – around the Lake – but in such good conditions we couldn’t resist the grass – and a few tried barefoot !

The session of strong 200s with a shortish jog recovery after each was the order of the day.

Just 2 new members this week – April Kartikasari & Jeroen Van Boxtel – recently arrived from USA – welcome to you both !!

We were pleased to have Alex Howard, Ashley Martin, & Jerome Rowcroft drop in. All have had other Tuesday evening commitments, & will continue to be occasional visitors at least in the short term.

It was nice of one of our Monash Sport friends – Caroline Lawrence – drop in to see us in operation.

Thanks to everyone for your ongoing commitment to Run Monash.

· In recent times we have welcomed lots of new potential squad members to Run Monash. If you are one of these – but have not returned please let me know by return email if you will be back. I really can’t keep people on the mailing list who don’t intend to participate with us on a regular basis.

· There was a group of 4 friends who joined us last week (Felipe, Carla, Morgana & Tais)– but no sign this week ! Hope they’ll be back – or will let me know their plans !

Thanks again to those who can’t attend who send me an ‘apology’ – as I’ve said this demonstrates more than just a casual involvement in our ‘Run Monash’ squad.

Would you all please make a special effort to mark off/highlight your name on my attendance list each week as that’s the only way I have of keeping track of attendance numbers.

Saturday Morning Hill Session at Jells Park

Our next Hill session will be on Saturday next, 9th November 2013, at Jells Park.

Great turnout again (15 of us) for this week’s hills session (Sat 2nd Nov) on a day when I thought numbers might be down, with lots at Track Competition.

Of course we’ll meet at the usual spot next Saturday, ready to run, at 8.30am SHARP (please be on time) - out the front of the cafe – ‘Madeline’s’.

Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension – opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.

Hope to see a big turnout next week.

As usual we will be in action on Tuesday evening next week, 12th November – ready to run - at 6pm SHARP

In 2013, as usual, we’re located at the Baseball field, & using the pavilion over there. Access by car is quite good & parking is very handy - enter from Ring Road East & go around to the Baseball field along the road around the back (Wellington Rd end) of Oval 1. You can park at the rear of the pavilion if space – or on the dirt road above if you like

Some ‘Run Monash’ news;

Christmas BBQ – at the Sports Centre after regular training - Tuesday 3rd December

We are planning our 2013 Christmas BBQ gathering for Tuesday 3rd December – to commence immediately after our session. Cost will be just $5 PP – and Chris Allan is collecting this each Tuesday evening from now on. Please commit yourself NOW !

· We are looking at possibly arranging an informal running group for Thursday evenings at the Clayton Campus – to complement the main Tuesday evening session - possibly to start in the New Year.

Time Trial – 2kms

The next Time Trial will be on Tuesday evening November 26th – so now there is less than 3 weeks for all of you to get in a good preparation & chalk up a big improvement on your current best time for this most popular run.
