Tuesday Evening Running Squad/’Run Monash’ at Monash Clayton Update

Hi All

As usual we will be in action on Tuesday evening next week, 30th April – ready to run at 6pm

In 2013, as usual, we’re located at the Baseball field, & using the pavilion over there. Access by car is quite good & parking is very handy - enter from Ring Road East & go around to the Baseball field along the road around the back (Wellington Rd end) of Oval 1. You can park at the rear of the pavilion if space – or on the dirt road above if you like

This week – Tuesday 23rd April 2013

This week we did the Lake hills session – popular with many – and another fine night for running was most welcome

Peter tried to convince me that we had 89 there – but that number certainly didn’t mark off their names on my weekly list (or fill in our forms if new) – so I’ll have to stick to my ‘official’ count of 81 – so sorry – no records !

The testing time is yet to come – cold/wet nights – please don’t let those nights put you off – if I’m prepared to stand in the wet/cold the least you call do is support my efforts. !

We welcomed another 4 new squad members this week – Stephanie Ong, Andrew Bracher, Bradley Crockett, Thomas Bath, we hope you all enjoyed the experience & will be back. Lars was a special visitor, & it was great to see Kathryn, Kavindu & Freya return to the fold.

Thanks again to those of you who took the small trouble to send an apology for being unable to attend the session. I do greatly appreciate that.

Time Trial Number 3 – is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday 25th June, so please note your diaries now.

Saturday Morning Hill Session at Jells Park

Sorry – but our Hill session WILL NOT go ahead again next Saturday morning (27th April), as many of us are involved in Cross Country Relays at Jells Park that same day / afternoon with my club - Glenhuntly.

Last Saturday – 20th – there were a massive 31 of us – and a fabulous session was enjoyed by all !

We’ll be back in action on Saturday week – 4th May – however.

We’ll meet at the usual spot at Jells Park on 4th May, ready to run, at 8.30am SHARP (please try to be on time) - out the front of the cafe – ‘Madeline’s’. Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension – opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.

Running Group Waiver Form – A message from Monash Sport.

All participants of the Running Group are required by the University to complete a waiver form. This form has a number of purposes. It firstly acts as a waiver to advise participants of the potential risks involved in the activity. It will also provide Monash Sport with valuable statistics in regards to who (student/staff/alumni/community) is participating in this activity. The University is requesting information on who is participating in all of Monash Sport's programs so this will assist Monash Sport in their reporting back to the University about student, staff and alumni usage. The form also provides an emergency contact point should anything happen. Hopefully we never need to use this information though!

If you haven't completed a form already, please click on the link below to download a form, complete it and bring it to the next session and give it to me /TV.

I will have spare blank forms with me of a Tuesday evening. Thanks to the great many of you who have completed & returned forms to me already.
